Regular fluoride treatments can help keep your teeth protected from cavities before they develop.

Cavities are caused by acid-producing bacteria that collect around the teeth and gum in a sticky, clear film of plaque. Without good oral hygiene, brushing twice a day and flossing, teeth, become more vulnerable to cavities. Good oral hygiene and regular dental examinations are important for keeping teeth healthy.

What makes the teeth more strong and the key to good oral health is fluoride, a mineral that helps prevent cavities and can repair teeth in the very early, microscopic stage of disease.

Like many dental treatments, fluoride is a preventative approach to maintaining your oral health. In our office we offer fluoride topically. In cases where there have been history, habits, diet, or medical changes that could increase the likelihood of cavities, or when such changes have increased the cavity rate in the patient’s mouth, we provide a more in-depth topical Fluoride treatments than we give at our regular appointments.
